Tara Gretton and Katrin Berger
Introduced by Katalin Hankovszky On the SF World Day 2020, Tara Gretton (UK) and Katrin Berger (D) started a network, Solution Focus in Schools (Click link for Facebook page).
The invitation goes to all interested Solution Focus practitioners linked to schools:
Teachers Counsellors Headmasters Parents and pupils too! Online gatherings (every month on the 3rd of the month) keep to a pre-set focus (such as ‘WOWW' or ‘student-driven').
Nic Vidot
Introduced by Carey Glass Nic Vidot is a humble leader and a great story-teller. From his belief in continuous improvement, he describes stories of using SF to make life even better in the secondary school he led.
SF became just way the school did things, and they used it in many situations, e.g.:
Working with 100 student leaders, whom Nic met twice in each school term Asking questions in assembly Changing how teachers and students interacted in the school grounds When working with the parents of pupils or enacting change with the school’s leadership team In this audio, Nic verbalises his belief in Solution Focus as a leadership tool.
Tara Gretton
Introduced by Tara Gretton This interview is such an open, honest, and inspiring account of using Solution Focus (SF) across a large vocational college of 1200 students, aged 15-60.
In this interview with Orsi Szabo, Judith Mahlmann, the school Principal, shares the story of how they attended Katalin Hankovsky’s seven-day workshop ‘Learn Coaching for Vocation Colleges’, in the first year as Principal at Inge Katz school in Bremen, Germany.

Introduced by Tara Gretton Whether you work in schools or not, reading this interview will fill your heart and mind with joy, hope and possibilities! Also, I presuppose you will deeply respect Karstorpskolan Norra’s State School Principal, Cornelia Malm!
How wonderful for a leader to tell her colleagues when she first joins the school, “I don’t want to change things here.
Anna-Julia Szabo
Introduced by John Brooker I’m happy, and I hope you will be too “What can we learn from solution-focused children?” A great deal it seems, and much of it provides lessons for those who work with adults in organisations. From the outset, Anna-Julia sets the scene with her warm and informal introduction; “I’m happy, and I hope you will be too”. Watch this video, and you will.
