Mechelen, Belgium on 15-16-17 May 2025 SOLWorld 2025: A Celebration of Being In Good Company The SOLWorld 2025 Conference in Mechelen, Belgium, brought together a vibrant community of professionals who use the Solution Focused (SF) approach in organisations around the world. Over three energising days, we explored fresh developments in SF practice, took part in interactive workshops, and reconnected with the joy of learning together. It is held within a sense of being among friends, companions in a shared endeavour to discover and evolve.

A powerful theme emerged: the need to make sustainability achievable for individuals and teams, empowering them to take meaningful action and providing hope that their efforts can make a real difference — whether within their organisation, networks, or society at large.

Introduced by Bodil Mickels Reflections on the Sustainability Unconference How can a solution-focused approach help create sustainable organisations? This was the theme at the SOLWorld “Unconference” sponsored by SFiO, in Land aan Zee, Netherlands, in mid-April 2024. 34 solution-focused coaches, organisational consultants, trainers and sustainability researchers, were present, representatives of public and local administrations, academia, private companies, and the third sector, making it a truly diverse and enriching experience. They joined from Europe, Australia and Canada, to ponder the theme question in a nature-rich environment. The forces of weather also participated in the experience, offering both sunshine and warmth, as well as torrential rain, thunder, and storms.
Come and experience this event at Beechen Cliff School in Bath on 9-10 April. This gathering will explore what can happen when wellbeing becomes a catalyst for better outcomes, stronger relationships and greater engagement in learning.

Introduction The closing plenary of SOLWorld 2025 was a joyful celebration of connection, reflection, and renewal. After days rich with learning and laughter, participants gathered to share what had surprised them most, whose good company they would cherish, and what small changes others might notice in them when they returned home – even the family cat, dog or horse. These warm conversations echoed the idea that, like music, the spirit of Solution Focus keeps playing even when we pause.
