From Crisis to Capability

Olayinka Madamidola ↗ Introduction by Annie Bordeleau Olayinka Madamidola is a Solution Focused practitioner, facilitator and founder of Family Matters Plus, where she supports workplaces in navigating crisis, conflict, and transitions through practical, strengths-based approaches. In this 30 minute conversation, Olayinka Madamidola invites us into the heart of the Solution Focused stance. She beautifully demonstrates what it means to slow down and notice: create enough space for the unexpected to emerge and discover what is easily overlooked. Her reflections are a reminder that as SF practitioners, awareness is something we continually cultivate.

Introduction by John Teager A very special and enduring bond was established when Anton Stellamans, Jonas Wells and Mark McKergow met, for the first time, at the SOL World Conference in Sweden in 2004. This opportune bringing together of philosophy, anthropology and rabid curiosity led to an immediate connection and a natural conversation on how Solution Focus, and the groundbreaking work of Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, could be evolved and brought into organisations and society more widely.

LEAD like a SWEDE by Jan Marklund

In the 2024 World Happiness Report , the Nordic countries are the happiest in the world (Finland 1st; Denmark 2nd; Iceland 3rd; Sweden 4th and Norway 7th) and they have maintained these high positions for many years. Each year, Nordic leaders appear to be doing more of what works. Notably though, change is happening, as it always does. In all these countries except Iceland and particularly in Norway and Sweden, the old are now much happier than the young, which is a concern. So, what needs to happen?
